Privacy policy

MY IP NOW by hesdev shows the internal and external IP address on your device. This policy explains what is read and what is stored.

What the app reads

• The local IP address from the network interfaces on the device.
• The connection type, such as Wi-Fi or mobile data, and the device name.
• The public IP address, country, and connection path through a request to ipify, icanhazip, or Cloudflare at 1.1.1.1. Those services see the public address because that is how this information is discovered.

What stays on the device

The address history is stored with the time in a local database, grouped in a table for each day. Appearance, language, and notification settings are stored too. This history is not sent to the developer’s server.

Notifications

If you turn them on, the app shows the current address in a notification and alerts you when the IP changes. The notification text may appear on the lock screen.

Ads and GDPR consent

The app may show ads through Google AdMob. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a Google consent message appears before any ad request. You can accept or refuse personalized ads, and change that choice later in Settings under “Ad privacy choices”.

If you consent, Google may process the advertising ID, ad interaction data, and IP address to deliver and measure ads and to prevent fraud. Google’s processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Ad measurement does not start before the consent step is finished. Where consent is required and not given, personalized ads are not requested.

Legal basis

• Showing the IP address you asked for: providing the service you use the app for.
• Personalized ads: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from Ad privacy choices. Withdrawing it does not stop the address from being shown.
• The daily history stored on the device: it is required for the history feature you use in the app, and it stays under your control.

How long data is kept

The address history and app settings stay on your device until you delete a day, clear the history, or uninstall the app. Google keeps advertising data under its own policy.

Transfers outside your country

The public IP lookup goes through ipify, icanhazip, or Cloudflare, and ads go through Google. That data may be processed outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area, with the safeguards each provider uses.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data, object to processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country. To delete the on-device history, use “Clear history” in Settings. For other requests, contact the developer.

Children

The app is not directed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

What we do not ask for

The app does not ask for location permission, the Wi-Fi network name, or access to photos or files.
